One hundred years ago, March 7, 1911, died Fogazzaro, Vicenza is celebrating the centenary of his death with a wealth of initiatives. It begins in the town hall of the Palazzo Trissino, with the presentation of the commemorative stamp. Reproduced in 2 million 500 thousand units, valued at 60 cents, the postal stamp depicts a portrait of the writer by the side of an open book. In the background you can see a glimpse of Fogazzaro Roi villa overlooking the shores of Lake Lugano, in Oria village in Valsolda. Also in town, in the same morning of March 7, in the Sala degli Stucchi, the mayor of Vicenza Variati Achilles, with the Assessor Francesca Lazzari and Fernando Bandini, president of the regional committee for the celebrations Fogazzaro, have given way to a full season of occasions, demonstrations and a variety of activities, all aimed to remind the author of "Piccolo Mondo Antico". A Palazzo Terzi, in Corso Fogazzaro INANTICACHARTA association, organized the exhibition "Il Piccolo Mondo Antico, " a look at the places of writing, in which they were exposed to some first editions of literary works of the writer from Vicenza, a photo exhibition prepared from photographer Marco Dal Maso and the projection of the video edited by "points" which illustrates the main places where Fogazzaro was inspired by her novels.

During the month of March will be held in the auditorium of the high school "Antonio Pigafetta" Fogazzaro homage to two conferences: the first, Tuesday, March 15, will focus on the figure of the author of "Piccolo Mondo Antico" in the transition from student to author and the second, Tuesday, March 22, we will discuss the relationship between music and poetry in the work of the writer, who was one of the protagonists of Italian culture at the turn of the century, but today, especially the young, almost unknown, even as a patriot of the Risorgimento.
