Movie Previews for January 7th - Season of the Witch Starring Nicholas Cage

We reach the first full three day movie weekend for 2011. Unfortunately a few days ago does not have much more to provide us than last weekend did with Blue Valentine (Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams) and the other Year (Jim Broadbent and Ruth Sheen). This weekend there's only one new film released, Season of the Witch starring Nicholas Cage and Ron Perlman. Check the movie preview below.

Season of the Witch

Nicholas Cage is Behmen the crusader who after returning from many years of battle finds his homeland continues to be overtaken through the Black Plague. Behmen and the comrade Felson (Ron Perlman) are summoned to consider an accused witch (Clair Foy) to some secluded abbey in which the monks will remove her evil powers. The treacherous and mystical expedition the group makes is certain to keep viewers wanting more. This film should succeed a few days ago with no large amount of competition. Next week is a different story for that film because it will need to increase from the Green Hornet and the Dilemma. Season of the Witch is directed by Dominic Sena who also directed Gone in Sixty Seconds (also starring Nicholas Cage) and Swordfish. If you are searching for fantasy film by using a violent edge take a look at Season of the Witch.

If Season of the Witch isn't your look there are still other great movies to determine in the theaters a few days ago. The best performing new movie releases in the box office would be the following:

  1. Little Fockers (Ben Stiller, Teri Polo and Robert De Niro)

  2. True Grit (Jeff Bridges, Matt Damon and Hailee Steinfeld)

  3. TRON: Legacy (Jeff Bridges, Garrett Hedlund and Olivia Wilde)

  4. Yogi Bear (Dan Aykroyd, Justin Timberlake and Anna Faris)

  5. The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (Ben Barnes, Skandar Keynes and Georgie Henley)

As mentioned earlier within the article next weekend we ought to go back to normal with a few strong new releases like: The Green Hornet (Seth Rogen, Jay Chou and Christoph Waltz), The Dilemma (Vince Vaughn, Kevin James and Winona Ryder), and Barney's Version (Paul Giamatti, Rosamund Pike and Jake Hoffman).
