Weekend box office Winners for January 16th - Saving money Hornet, The Dilemma and True Grit

After waiting through the after holiday dry spell i was finally supplied with some good new films debuting for that Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend. While there have been some good films introduced over the vacation weeks those films have run their course also it was time for many brand new content and that we first got it. Browse the top performing movies in the box office for that weekend of January 16th, 2011.

The Green Hornet starring Seth Rogen, Jay Chou and Christopher Waltz grabbed the amount one spot in the box office a few days ago. The film, that is based on the 1966 superhero, introduced an awesome $34 million because of its debut weekend. The film, that was directed by Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Be Kind Rewind) really did a fantastic job sticking with the original themes and character. Seth Rogen that has made a significant reputation for himself within the film business both wrote and starred in The Green Hornet. Read this film if you have been in the atmosphere for any fun superhero thriller.

Coming in second for that weekend was The Dilemma starring Vince Vaughn and Kevin James. The Dilemma, that was also in the debut weekend, introduced $17. 4 million however, many of the reviews about this film are mixed. The Dilemma is directed through the talented Ron Howard (The Da Vinci Code, Cinderella Man and A Beautiful Mind) that has not directed a good deal within the genre of comedy films. If you have been in the atmosphere for many great physical comedy The Dilemma is a superb one to determine.

Showing no signs and symptoms of letting up in the fourth week in the box office, True Grit grabbed the 3rd position for that weekend. The Coen Brothers should be pleased with the amazing success of the highest grossing movie because it added another $9 million bringing the 4 week total to $126. 4 million. True Grit stars Jeff Bridges and Matt Damon and it has generated a significant buzz among moviegoers. Search for continued success out of this one as the person to person is very good about this action film.
